Spending time outdoors is a way of life in Cape Town and no
family visit would be complete without it.
Sea, Sun, Fun
For those who love the sea, there’s no better vantage
point to see gorgeous Cape Town than from the ocean. And in
season you’ll see whales, dolphins, seals, penguins and
lots of sea birds.
Sailing
boats
Set sail on one of the many yachts or catamarans offering scenic
trips and sunset cruises around Table Bay. For families who
want to put all hands on deck, we’ll take you on a wonderful
ocean sailing experience.
Mountains, Views, Fresh Air
Let the mountains be your family playground while you visit
Cape Town.
Hiking
There are hundreds of guided walks on Table Mountain and surroundings.
From easy walks for families with small kids, to more strenuous
hikes for the more adventurous. Adrenaline junkies can learn
to rock climb on Table Mountain or abseil down its rocky heights.
Mountain Biking
Mountain biking is big in Cape Town. Families can enjoy a
gentle ride at Cape Point Nature Reserve or the Winelands.
For a starter mountain bike ride, there’s fun dirt track
riding on Table Mountain and for experienced mountain bikers,
there’s great technical riding through forest terrain.
And that’s not all…
Horse Riding
Horse riding is a great way to explore Cape Town’s wide
open spaces. Saddle up and escape to white sandy beaches,
majestic mountains or beautiful vineyards. Children with experience
can join in. For the inexperienced, there are riding schools
and the chance to go on out rides.
Golf
Golf is something the whole family can enjoy when in Cape
Town. Kids can get started at a Golf Academy from the age
of 6. Once they get a handicap, they can join Mom and Dad
on one of our numerous world-class golf courses around the
city.
And for families who want something a little more unusual
consider:
quadbiking, sandboarding, helicopter rides and lots more.
